EXCLUSIVE: Jessica Simpson's Baby Name Revealed!

Jessica.jpg
Choosing a baby name can be tricky, so it?s no surprise that Jessica Simpson and fianc Eric Johnson were, until recently, at an impasse about what to call their soon-to-be born daughter. ?They tossed around a lot of names, including some wacky ones like Zinfandel, but couldn?t agree on anything,? a family friend confides.

Now, the pair has come to an understanding, and In Touch ? which was first to break the news both of Jessica?s pregnancy and of the baby?s sex ? can exclusively reveal the unusual (for a girl) moniker. ?They?re going to call her Maxwell, Maxi for short,? the friend says. Maxwell is Eric?s middle name, and also his beloved grandma?s maiden name. ?Jessica wanted a name with meaning.?

And not only has Jessica?s been seen wearing a necklace with a diamond ?M? pendant in honor of her little bundle of joy, the couple also already ordered onesies monogrammed with the name! Jessica, 31, is now set to give birth on April 20, three weeks earlier than her original due date. ?She?s gained so much weight and the baby is so big that doctors pushed up the date,? reveals her friend. And while the thought of giving birth freaks her out, ?Jessica and Eric are so eager to meet Maxwell!?

'Avengers' Fans Should Feel 'Exhausted And Fulfilled,' Joss Whedon Says

At South by Southwest film festival, 'Cabin in the Woods' scribe tells MTV News, 'It's a ride.'
By Kara Warner

Joss Whedon has a big year ahead of him. In a little more than a month, fans will finally get to see the long-delayed horror movie "The Cabin in the Woods," followed a few weeks later by the release of one of this summer's most highly anticipated tent poles, "The Avengers."

When MTV News caught up with Whedon during the South by Southwest film festival press day for "Cabin in the Woods," we asked him how his superhero film is coming together.

"The most satisfying thing about 'The Avengers' is that soon I will finish it," he said with a weary smile. "That's quite an undertaking — although listening to Alan Silvestri conduct an 80-piece orchestra didn't suck. It was a really beautiful experience," he said of watching the Oscar-nominated composer at work. "He did such a great job: You're listening to live music and watching your movie form in a way that it doesn't until it has that music. That was exciting."

Another exciting aspect of the filmmaking process was interacting with his A-list actors: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg and Tom Hiddleston, to name a few.

Whedon said he enjoyed "just having them all." "When they would be together, the energy that they would give each other, the way they play off each other, the way they protect each other narratively, making sure that whoever they were coming up against had as much juice as they did. It would be easy to imagine that they would be all be like 'me, me, me,' and it was always 'us, us, us,' and that was really fun," he explained. "Except sometimes they would just gossip so much and talk. 'Guys, we're rolling. We have to make a movie. This isn't a party; this isn't the green room.' "

The "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Firefly" mastermind said he hopes audiences feel just as worn out at the end as he was making it.

"I want them to feel exhausted and fulfilled," he shared. "Not unlike 'Cabin,' it's a ride, and we put the screws to them. We really put the characters through it, and we want the audience to be with them every step of the way and come out of it going, 'That was an extraordinary experience, and now I want to pay to see it again.' "

Someone who didn't have to wait to pay to see the finished product is Whedon's "Cabin" co-writer and director Drew Goddard.

"Drew's seen it: He saw the very first assembly," Whedon said. "He was one of the first people I came to and said, 'Where did I go right?' "

Goddard could only offer a one-word review via third person: "Drew's been told he's not allowed to say anything about it," Goddard said with a smile. "But it's awesome."

BREAKING NEWS: George Clooney arrested?

?No, not over crimes relating to being a massive silver fox, because he was taking part in a protest about the Sudanese crisis.

A dozen or so other people, one of whom was George's father, got arrested for'civil disobedience'during the protest which took place outside the Sudanese embassy in Washington DC. George?s spokesperson had this to say:

?They were protesting the violence committed by the government of Sudan on its own innocent men, women and children. They were demanding they allow humanitarian aid into the country before it becomes the largest humanitarian crisis in the world.?

The actor is apparently pretty happy about the arrest, surprisingly, as he hopes it?ll draw attention to the humanitarian crisis.

We hope he doesn?t stay in the chokey for too long, after all you know what they do with pretty faces like his on the inside.

Justin Bieber Basketball Movie Will Be 'Worth The Wait'

'We're waiting for the script ... it's a bit of a process having the script written,' Mark Wahlberg tells MTV News about movie's progress.
By Kara Warner

In addition to delighting us with his surprise appearance at Seth MacFarlane's SXSW panel and our scheduled interview afterward, Mark Wahlberg told MTV News Sunday that while his basketball movie with Justin Bieber has not officially been green-lit yet, the storywriting is already in full swing.

"We're waiting for the script," Wahlberg said when asked for an update on the anticipated film. "Waiting for the script. Every time I see [Bieber] or Scooter [Braun], I have to explain to them that it's a bit of a process having the script written."

Wahlberg emphasized that they want to make sure that the script is as good as it can be before they move forward into production.

"It certainly [has to be] something that's good enough to go and have green-lit and make right away," he said. "But I think it will be well worth the wait."

From what "The Fighter" star and recent birthday boy have said about the film, they're developing a basketball movie in the vein of "The Color of Money" in which Wahlberg will play a weathered baller who takes a younger player (Bieber) under his wing.

Wahlberg has said that his intuition is a big reason why he pursued the project with the pop star.

"I'm pretty intuitive," he said. "I see the guy and spent time with him, and you see what he does and how he does it, and then you actually have a conversation with him, and it's there."

Bieber has hinted that he hopes to fit a film project into his busy schedule this summer, though he didn't specifically say which film that might be.

"What's happening is: get off this tour, and then my [holiday] album's coming out, so I have to go back out and promote that album ... and then after that ... it's almost time for my next album, so then everything starts over again," Bieber told us last fall. "Hopefully, next summer I can start on a movie or something."

SXSW 2012 Kicks Off With 'Cabin In The Woods'

On the South by Southwest film festival red carpet, Joss Whedon tells MTV News the flick had 'a very weirdly organic genesis.'
By Kara Warner

The annual South by Southwest film festival kicked off in splendid, if slightly soggy, fashion Friday night with the world premiere of "Cabin in the Woods."

Amidst unseasonably chilly temperatures and intermittent downpours in Austin, Texas, the film's cast and crew braved the elements to walk the red carpet ahead of the highly anticipated horror film's packed screening.

"We are so excited to be premiering at South by Southwest: We really couldn't have asked for a better place to premiere this film," first-time director Drew Goddard told MTV News. "We feel like we're a South by Southwest film, so we're happy to be here. It worked out well for us.

"I feel like South by Southwest has a swagger, a rock and roll feel to it. When you hear those words, you feel like they're pushing the edge of what's acceptable in society and I feel like — I hope — that we did the same," Goddard added, speaking to the film's intrigue and appeal.

"Apparently, South by Southwest is a really rad festival, and I think this is a really rad film, so it's a good fit," star Anna Hutchison said. "Also Joss is really excited about it, so if he's excited, you know that it's a good thing."

Speaking of co-writer and fan-boy favorite Joss Whedon, the "Avengers" director and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" mastermind said that the long-delayed and slightly troubled backstory surrounding "Cabin" makes it even more perfect for a SXSW showing.

"It was created very independently, and it came up very organically," Whedon said. "It wasn't churned out of a studio system. The fact that MGM, Mary Parent was taking a lot of risks. She let us shoot word-for-word exactly what we wrote. That's the movie we made. Then obviously it had some troubles, and Lionsgate came in, and it had a very weirdly organic genesis."

Co-star Bradley Whitford summed up his SXSW excitement with his love for its host city: "I love, love, love Austin — even when it feels like Iceland," he said with a smile from under an umbrella. "I love this town, so I was thrilled to be able to come here." He said "Cabin" has "a very young, hip, humorous, smart, astute thing going on."

Kristen Connolly added: "It's awesome to know that people are excited about the movie, and it's awesome to be here. It's such a cool festival, I've wanted to come to it for ages, so I'm thrilled to be here."

As the countdown to "The Hunger Games" grows shorter and shorter, fans have been craving as much of the tributes as they can possibly get. Luckily, we have a brand-new exclusive clip from the upcoming movie.

Soon after they are chosen for the games, the tributes from District 12, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), go through the public relations wringer, including a broadcast interview with the eccentric TV personality Caesar Flickerman, played by a very blue-haired Stanley Tucci.

In this exclusive clip, Peeta sits down to answer a few personal questions from Caesar before heading into the arena.

Similarly, the cast and crew of "The Hunger Games" will have to face the judgments of the diehard fans of the book, when the film finally comes out on March 23. MTV News' Josh Horowitz spoke with Lawrence about her reaction to seeing the finished film and how fans have treated her during the lead-up.

"It was really good. It didn't surprise me, which was good. During filming, I really liked everything what I was seeing. I liked everything that Gary was doing. Then I saw it, and it was all there," Lawrence said. "It's always hard for me watching because I think I am a horrible troll and I'll never work again. Overall, I think everybody else in the movie is fantastic, and I think the film itself is really good."

Life has changed significantly for Lawrence since scoring the highly coveted role, not for the better in some cases. "I get photographers hiding in my bushes," she said. "We're way past autographs. We're into being stalked and followed."

Other than the paparazzi, the response has been generally more positive for Lawrence. "Everyone's been really nice fortunately. I mean, the movie's not out yet, so we'll see."

MTV News goes live from the "Hunger Games" red-carpet premiere tonight! Tune into our live stream from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. ET as Josh Horowitz catches up with the stars and asks fans' burning questions!

A warrant has been issued for Russell Brand?s arrest?

Oh dear, what seemed like light-hearted banter yesterday has turned rather serious overnight.

Russy is now reportedly wanted by the police after he threw a paparazzo?s phone through a window. Crikey.

According to TMZ, the New Orleans police have issued a misdemeanour warrant for the comedian?s arrest on Wednesday.

Yesterday,we told youhow Russell offered an excuse for what happened, saying he was honouring Steve Jobs. He tweeted: Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iphone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory.'

He?s probs not laughing so much now at his witty tweet.

The paparazzo told the police that he was with a group of other photographers when he began to take pictures of the actor with his iPhone from his car.

He then claims Russell got rather peed off, grabbed his phone and threw it through the window of a local law firm.

A man who was inside the building at the time, said Brand?s people tried to smooth things over after the incident, but clearly it was to no avail.

Russell?s representative acknowledged he had thrown the phone and said that he would pay for the repair of the window. He is also believed to have returned the phone to the paparazzo after the police had arrived.

And so the story of the phone chucking continues?

Russell Brand says he didn?t commit a crime, he honoured Steve Jobs

Oh Russell Brand you are ever so witty and clever, aren?t you?

Yesterday Russy got in a spot of bother after a paparazzo claimed he snatched his mobile phone from his hand and threw it through the window of an abandoned building.

He has been named in a police report in New Orleans after the photographer complained citing 'criminal damages' over the incident.

Not one to take things lying down (well, that?s not strictly true, he likes a fair few things lying down) he took to Twitter this afternoon to defend his actions. He wrote:

?Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iphone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory.?

Ah good one. We like that, it?s rather good, no?

We?ll have to see how this one unfolds. In the meantime Russell, who clearly doesn?t give a damn, is enjoying time with a mystery brunette in New Orleans.

Judging by his reported actions, it seems he?s desperate that no one gets a snap of him and the female doing anything of interest.

Russell, as you all know, only recently split from his wife and popstar Katy Perry. This mystery lady is reported to be the new lady in his life, but so far only images of the pair walking together have emerged.

We want more juicy pictures and we want them now.

'Hunger Games' Actress Sees Katniss In Jennifer Lawrence

'Jen has some of Katniss' qualities in her,' Amandla Stenberg told MTV News of the 'Hunger Games' leading lady.
By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Jennifer Lawrence attends the world premiere of "The Hunger Games"

Jennifer Lawrence is Katniss Everdeen, though not every fan agreed prior to the actress' casting almost a full year ago. Was her hair dark enough? Was she young enough? These were the nitpicky details that some readers of "The Hunger Games" latched onto, but based on increasing buzz about the film's fantastic quality, those worries should be out the door by now — and if they're not, Amandla Stenberg is here to convince you of Lawrence's worthiness.

"I think they're kind of similar," Stenberg, who plays fan-favorite tribute Rue in the film, told MTV News on the "Hunger Games" red carpet in Los Angeles on Monday. "Jen has some of Katniss' qualities in her. She can be kind of sarcastic, and I think Jen has that same sense of humor."

Stenberg certainly had plenty of chances to see for herself just how much Lawrence and Everdeen have in common. As Rue, the young actress spent most of her screen time opposite the Oscar-nominated "Winter's Bone" actress, playing her first ally in the deadly competition. Indeed, Rue is at the center of what may very well be the most anticipated scene in the film for "Hunger Games" readers.

"I want fans to be happy with it," Stenberg said of her all-too-crucial spoiler-heavy scene. "But being on set though, even when we were shooting such a serious scene, everyone was lighthearted and having fun. We tried to keep it a little happy on set."

For Stenberg, it wasn't hard to stay happy, considering that she had read "The Hunger Games" a whopping four times before even landing the part of Rue. As a fan of the books, Stenberg admitted that she was pretty nervous going into the audition process, even though she clearly nailed the tryout in the end.

"I went to [director Gary Ross'] house covered in mud with leaves and twigs in my hair and everything, so I looked like Rue," she recalled. "I think I made a good impression, because it went really well. I was very nervous though because I didn't hear back for a couple weeks, but then I got a call from my agent saying I got the part. I started screaming and running around!"

'Bill And Ted 3' Will Explore 'Rock' History, Alex Winter Says

'We're happy with what we wrote,' Winter tells MTV News, confirming that he and Keanu Reeves reprised their characters while developing script.
By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Alex Winter
Photo: MTV News

God gave rock and roll to you, and if you're lucky, he'll give you a brand new "Bill and Ted" adventure as well! That's the plan, at least, according to one half of the dimwitted duo: Alex Winter, who starred as Bill Preston Esq. in both "Excellent Adventure" and "Bogus Journey," isn't just hoping for a "Bill and Ted" reunion, he's getting close to making it actually happen.

"I think the reality is that there probably will be another one," Winter told MTV News during a recent interview about his new Napster documentary, "Downloaded." Indeed, Winter and co-star Keanu Reeves both recently confirmed that a third "Bill and Ted" script is finished (and totally excellent). Of course, given how long it's taken to get the third movie off the ground — "Bogus Journey," their last appearance, hit theaters in 1991 — arriving at a universally agreed-upon idea wasn't an exact science.

"We just kicked ideas around [over the years] and eventually, we kicked one idea around that clicked," Winter said. "It felt timely. Funnily enough, it felt better because so much time had gone by. What would it be like to revisit those guys now? From a comedy standpoint, it felt kind of cool to revisit two galvanized comic characters a chunk of time later, [exploring] what you can do with that from a comedy perspective."

Though much time has passed between the last "Bill and Ted" and now, Winter admitted that it's "very possible" that Bill and Ted themselves, despite their age, haven't grown up with the times — though he would neither confirm nor deny their current maturity level. What he would say, however, is that the next "Bill and Ted" adventure would focus heavily on the rock and roll spirit that's always been present in the franchise.

"What's happened to rock and roll in the last 20 years? The movie's going to get in and play with some of that stuff," he said. "Where is rock? Where are we? What's happened to the whole idea of saving the world — or what hasn't happened? There's a lot to play with there."

There's so much to play with, in fact, that Winter and Reeves both slipped into character on more than one occasion while developing the new "Bill and Ted" script.

"Yes, we did. It's really sad how easy it was [to get back into character]," he laughed. "You go away and do all this other stuff and go, 'I'm not Bill, that's absurd!' ... And then me and Reeves got together, and suddenly we're the characters again. We didn't even mean to. We just started riffing on it. When we were doing notes and me and Reeves started riffing on the dialogue, it's just, oh my god. Yeah, it's in there. God knows."

"Bill and Ted 3," which has a title that Winter won't reveal just yet ("But it'll say it all," he promised), still has obstacles in the way. No, there are no Evil Us's to consider, but the script does not yet have a green-light. According to Winter, though, he's more than happy with the project as it stands, even if it never makes it to the big screen.

"It's something we think is a very fun thing. We had a lot of fun developing it, and the guys are amazing writers," Winter said of working with longtime "Bill and Ted" writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon. "We had a lot of fun with the script. We're happy with where it's at now. If it goes forward, great. If it doesn't, we're happy with what they wrote and what we came up with."

At SXSW, Matthew McConaughey Says It's OK To Laugh At 'Killer Joe'

'It's a bit of a hyperreality ... very violent, at the same time, it's very funny,' star tells MTV News at South by Southwest film festival.
By Kara Warner

Despite the fact Matthew McConaughey is a homegrown Texan, this is the first year he's attending Austin's annual South by Southwest film festival in support of a film of his that was selected. And McConaughey isn't just in town for one premiere — he's here for two: "Killer Joe" and "Bernie."

In "Joe," the "Lincoln Lawyer" star plays a contract killer hired by a young man (Emile Hirsch) who's trying to get rid of his mom for stealing his drugs. Sound outrageous? It is. So much so that the castmembers revealed that while watching some of the scenes, they didn't know if they should laugh or be offended.

"It's a comedy, but everyone played it straight," McConaughey told MTV News at the SXSW premiere Saturday night. "It wasn't a comedy where you played the joke. The situations are absurd. It's a bit of a hyperreality like in some good Tarantino films — very violent, at the same time, it's very funny."

Co-star Gina Gershon added, "The wonderful thing about it is that you could be watching a scene and ... one person watching is totally horrified and the other is laughing their head off. Sometimes, it's like, 'This is kind of sexy.' 'No, it's horrible!' 'No, it's funny.' It really screws with your emotions a lot."

Hirsch admitted that the fact that his character hires a hitman to kill his mom is extreme, but she asked for it when she stole his drugs.

"It's kind of crazy. I think the MTV crowd — whoever those Music Television-loving people are out there — could like it," he said. "I don't know. I'm not going to tell them they will."

The "Into the Wild" star said he liked the insanity of the story — and that he got to act with a limp. "It was good. [Director William] Friedkin kept coming up to me and was like, 'Don't forget the pain. Let me see that limp, let me see that leg.' "

McConaughey said he expects a lot of delayed laughter from audiences because people can't decide whether they should find the situations funny: "It's the kind of late laugh that you go, 'I'm not supposed to be laughing, but I just found myself laughing, and is it OK for me to laugh at that 'cause I just did?' I like it."

Snooki: "I?ve Had All The Fun I?m Ever Going To Have In My Life"

snookpreg1_wide.jpg
Nicole ?Snooki? Polizzi first confessed her marriage plans to In Touch: ?I?m not thinking it may happen, I know,? she said last month. ?I found the right guy... I?m just waiting for him to ask.? Well, it looks like her longtime boyfriend, Jionni LaValle, finally took the hint and put a ring on it! Last week, Snooki took to the streets flashing a sizeable square-cut rock. Today, fans won?t be surprised to learn, she has finally confirmed the obvious: Yes, that?s an engagement ring, and yes, that?s a baby bump!

Needless to say, Snooki?s bundle of joy wasn?t exactly planned. But she and Jionni seem thrilled, and more than ready to make the best of it. As she told In Touch, ?I?m 24. I?ve had all the fun I?m ever going to have in my life.? (Presumably she meant... as a single girl?) Congratulations to the happy pair as they begin their next chapter! We can't wait to hear the baby names.

Watching the WTA this week made me laugh! The reunion in Vegas brought back a ton of memories of my wedding.

Each season a small group of the contestants call me for advice after shortly getting off the show. This season was no different. In fact, almost every girl that called me for advice told me that production is hinting to them that they are going to make her the next Bachelorette.

It still amazes me that the only successful couple to come out of this show after almost ten years is Ryan and Trista Sutter!

I know all of you are saying "well look at you and Ann," "look at Jason and Molly," or "look at Chris and Peyton." However, none of us found love on camera with a room filled with producers. We all found love after the cameras stopped rolling, either at a reunion or on our own time. I do admit that the show casts amazing people, however I think the show should just let those people fall in love organically.

As for lasts nights WTA, I guarantee the producers convinced Courtney she was going to make up with all those girls and refurbish her image by going back. But, no one goes on television to apologize to someone other than on Jerry Springer or Jake Pavelka. If I were Courtney I would stop listening to what the producers are saying and do what I think is best.

As for Lindzi, Kasey, Nicki and a few other great girls from this season: I think you all got the shaft by trying to open up your hearts on this show.

Until next weeks finale I am out.

'John Carter' Stumbles As 'Lorax' Takes Box-Office Crown

Dr. Seuss film is highest-grossing movie of the year so far.
By Ryan J. Downey

"Dr. Seuss' The Lorax" was the #1 movie at the box office for a second consecutive weekend, but the bigger story was the film that came in at #2.

"John Carter," which Disney hoped would kick off a franchise based on the classic Edgar Rice Burroughs stories that inspired generations of sci-fi, opened with $30.6 million. In an article bearing the headline " 'Ishtar' on Mars," the New York Times reported that "John Carter" cost about $350 million to market and produce. Even with its $71 million overseas total, "Carter" is a long way from an estimated break-even point of $600 million. "Ishtar" is a 1987 film famous for how hard it flopped despite the presence of two A-list stars (Warren Beatty, Dustin Hoffman) and huge marketing.

The tale of a Civil War veteran who finds himself in the middle of a local conflict on Mars, "Carter" is the first live-action film directed by Andrew Stanton ("Finding Nemo," "WALL-E") and stars "Friday Night Lights" alum Taylor Kitsch in the title role. Reviews were decidedly mixed; Rotten Tomatoes had assigned it a "Tomatometer" rating of 49 percent at press time. "Lifeless on Mars," proclaimed TheWrap.com's Alonso Duralde. "For all its efforts and intentions, and despite the occasional minor thrill, 'John Carter' winds up being as generic and forgettable as its title."

The folks behind "The Lorax," meanwhile, had plenty to celebrate. The animated Dr. Seuss adaptation made $39.1 million in its second weekend in theaters, putting it past "The Vow" to become 2012's highest-grossing film thus far with its estimated total of nearly $122 million. The second-week 44 percent decline of "The Lorax" was about on par with "Horton Hears a Who!," which made $154 million during its domestic theatrical run in 2008.

Found-footage party film "Project X" was #3 at the box office with $11.5 million for a $40.1 million total. Horror flick "Silent House" was a dud, opening at #4 with $7 million. The top five was rounded out by another box-office disappointment, "A Thousand Words," which debuted with $6.3 million, barely more than the opening-weekend numbers for fairly recent Eddie Murphy flops "Meet Dave" ($5.25 million) and "Imagine That" ($5.5 million). Neither "A Thousand Words" nor "John Carter" suffered as badly as Eddie Murhpy's sci-fi comedy "The Adventures of Pluto Nash," which made $4.4 million during its entire theatrical run in 2002 against a production budget estimated to be more than $100 million.

The comedy "Friends With Kids" opened at #13 with $2.1 million but played at only 374 theaters. By comparison, "John Carter" was at 3,749.

This weekend's new releases include the comedic big-screen version of "21 Jump Street," the '90s cop show that launched Johnny Depp. The reboot co-stars and was produced by Jonah Hill. Also coming up: Will Ferrell's Spanish-language comedy "Casa de mi Padre," the Jason Segel/ Ed Helms comedy "Jeff, Who Lives at Home," the Adrien Brody drama "Detachment" and the latest in a string of poorly reviewed Nicolas Cage films, "Seeking Justice."

Check out everything we've got on "Dr. Seuss' The Lorax" and "John Carter."

N.W.A Movie Progressing At 'High Speed,' Ice Cube Says

'21 Jump Street' star tells MTV News, 'We're waiting to hire a director and then bring it all home.'
By Kevin P. Sullivan, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Ice Cube

In addition to his comedic work in "21 Jump Street," Ice Cube has been busy behind the camera, attempting to put two passion projects together as a producer.

In recent months, rumors have swirled about a fourth "Friday" movie and a biopic on the members of N.W.A. When MTV News' Josh Horowitz sat down with the rapper-turned-actor and producer, Cube offered an update on the latter.

Addressing rumors that his "Boyz n the Hood" director, John Singleton, could possibly helm the project based on the rap group, Ice Cube basically said that he couldn't say. "We're interviewing a lot of directors. I don't want to say 'ye' or 'nay,' but we're interviewing directors," he said. "So, the movie's in progress in this high speed, and it's coming along. Hopefully, we get it done."

The director remains the biggest missing piece of the puzzle, as Ice Cube confirmed that the script is where it needs to be for the flick to move forward. "I'm happy with the script. The script is about 75 percent there. We're waiting to hire a director and then bring it all home," he said. "It's always stumbling blocks in Hollywood. There are always ways that the movie can not get made. Until they green-light the picture, start cutting checks, it's still just a dream."

The most prevalent rumor around casting the film has been that the members' sons will play their fathers. Cube said he wouldn't have a problem with his son playing him, but he wants a traditional casting process first.

"That's a dream come true, but we're going to find the best actor to do the job. That's the thing about movies: You have got to find the best people to do the role," he said. "It is going to be a role that I think is right for unknowns, people who you haven't seen before. I think that's the best way to pull this off."

Someone?s got a case of the Professor Green eyed monster over Mille Mackintosh?s racy ad

Mille Mackintosh, who you lot know from Made In Chelsea, has shed her clothes in order to seduce a bartender.

Not in real life of course, it?s to promote Umberto Giannini?s new hair care range. We?re not entirely sure why she needs to get in the buff to promote hair, but hey ho.

Her current boyfriend Professor Green took to Twitter this morning to question her about it and it seems he might have a little case of the professor green-eyed monster.

He wrote: ?hold on a minute, whats all this about getting naked in a cafe and seducing another man? @millsmackintosh.?

Followed by: ?i don't care if he was shorter than you, you're having a giraffe if you think i'm putting up with this. @millsmackintosh.?

And then: ?off to get naked in a restaurant and seduce a waitress.?

Very witty, Prof Green. We will remind you at this point that he reportedly fell for her after seeing her in her undies in FHM, so he can?t really complain about this, can he?

Anyway, while Millie hasn?t taken to Twitter yet to reply to her boyf, she has spoken about being part of the online graphic novel (yeah it?s not a normal advert).

She said: ?The character in this video was great fun to act. It felt really sexy to play the "femme fatale" role!

?I love the film noir, 1920s feel to it all and think it captures the glamorous essence of the Incredible Body range perfectly.?

Yes, how very sexy and what wonderful acting. Let?s just hope her little foray into acting won?t cause Prof Green too much anguish because it?s rather entertaining watching this bizarre relationship unfold.

'Hunger Games' Premiere: Our Favorite Tweets So Far!

Like good tributes, you sent MTV News some clever questions before tonight's red-carpet live stream at 8:30 p.m. ET on MTV.com.
By Kevin P. Sullivan

We thought we were excited about tonight's live stream from the "The Hunger Games" red carpet, but by the looks of your tweets, we're not nearly as excited as all of the fans!

The festivities kick off Monday night (March 12) at 8:30 p.m. ET on MTV.com, when MTV News' Josh Horowitz and Christina Garibaldi come to you live from the red-carpet premiere of the film you've all been waiting for: "The Hunger Games."

But before you strap on your quiver, bow and arrow for the big event, we asked you to tweet us some questions and comments for the cast on the red carpet. Like the good tributes that you are, you tweeted a ton of interesting questions to @MTVNews using the hashtag #AskHG, and you should continue to do so right up until the live stream.

We've rounded up some of our favorite tweets so far. While they're not necessarily the ones we'll ask on the carpet, these definitely made us smile.

@Stevie_Daisy: @MTVNews #AskHG To Jennifer Lawrence, during scenes with Lenny Kravitz, were you jealous of 'Cinna's' sparkly gold eye liner? :P

We genuinely want to know the answer to this. Admittedly, Lenny did look pretty awesome in his eye liner, but how does the Girl on Fire feel about having to share the glam spotlight?

@Skylir19: @MTVNews @thehungergames -- Will there be as much nudity (or semi-nudity, re: the PG-13 rating) as there is in the book? #AskHG #IHopeSo

This tweet gets our vote for asking a question most people want to know about but are too afraid to ask. Given the opportunity, most people would ask about nudity.

@SwagMusic2: "I will never say never" RT if you are a belieber Katy cat little monster or hooligan!!! #AskHG#DONE #GirlFacts #Shoutout #justsayin

We're not totally sure if @SwagMusic2 understood the assignment, but you have to admire that entrepreneurship and RT-baiting.

@kaitmaree77: @joshuahorowitz #AskHG What is Jennifer Lawrence's favourite Anchorman and/or Ace Ventura scene/quote? Fellow fans wonder!

File this one under questions we didn't know we wanted the answer to. ... It's just so out of left field that it's kind of brilliant.

@kitkat11181998: #askHG If you were in a real hunger games and it was down to you and your most loved one, what would you do?

Inappropriately dark, yet oddly intriguing.

MTV News goes live from the "Hunger Games" red-carpet premiere tonight! Tune in to our live stream from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. ET as Josh Horowitz catches up with the stars and asks fans' burning questions!

Jessie J will be toning down her look from now on?apparently

It appears Jessie J has been having a bit of a rethink about some of her fashion and make up choices in the past.

We?d agree that she did have the tendency to look a little OTT in the past, but it?s hard to imagine her any other way, isn?t it?

She said: "I have calmed down my look. Is it really necessary to wear all that jewellery and make-up at 7am and look like a drag queen? When you're tired you start to over-compensate for it by wearing too much bling."

Hmm, could she possibly be saying this because she is a judge on the new TV show The Voice, which is all about the voice and not the way people look?

We think so but the proof will be in the pudding, we suppose. Find out more about what Jessie had to say in the video above.

'John Carter': The Reviews Are In!

Critics are not finding much to praise in film based on Edgar Rice Burroughs hero.
By Kevin P. Sullivan

Taylor Kitsch in "John Carter"
Photo: Disney

Disney's $250 million effort to bring the iconic Edgar Rice Burroughs hero, to the screen is certainly not making critics leap for joy supernaturally high because of differences in gravity. In fact, many have outright damned the film, while others have found a deep and fun love of B-movie and pulp traditions

We've rounded up a sampling of reviews of "John Carter," so you'll know whether to head out to the theater this weekend.

The Story
"Our hero is John Carter, the Confederate Civil War veteran who strikes gold in the Arizona territory but who is whisked to the planet Barsoom on the flimsiest of pretexts. Barsoom is Mars by another name, and the Virginia-born Carter lands in the middle of another civil war, this one between the Heliumites and the Zondangans. Dejah Thoris, the Heliumite princess known also as 'the red girl,' is about to be married off against her will. But love finds a way, and while Taylor Kitsch's hunky John Carter and Lynn Collins' dishy princess smolder as effectively as possible under the circumstances, Kitsch in particular seems lost in ways unrelated to his character's predicament." — Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune

Taylor Kitsch
"If the movie had a leading actor with the galactic charisma necessary for the task, we might even be talking classic sci-fi. Since it's impossible to put Harrison Ford into the Wayback Machine, though, we're stuck with the unfortunately named Taylor Kitsch (TV's 'Friday Night Lights') as John Carter, the burned-out Civil War veteran who finds himself mysteriously transported to the Red Planet while searching for gold in the caves of Arizona. Kitsch is decent company — manly, muscled, noble, sardonic — but there's nothing unique about him, and we follow him by default." — Ty Burr, Boston Globe

The Backstory
"It starts with a great story — of love and politics, time travel and mystical pathways between planets — badly sucked dry. Based on 'A Princess of Mars,' the post-Civil War/pre-Tarzan brainchild of arguably one of the most entertaining non-Disney imagineers of all times, Edgar Rice Burroughs, the book and the Barsoom (a.k.a. Mars) series that would follow has been picked over for plot points by Hollywood for years." — Betsy Sharkey, Los Angeles Times

The Pixar Connection
"The Pixar touch is evident in the precision of the visual detail and in the wit and energy of Michael Giacchino's score, but the quality control that has been exercised over this project also has a curiously undermining effect. The movie eagerly sells itself as semitrashy, almost-campy fun, but it is so lavish and fussy that you can't help thinking that it wants to be taken seriously, and therefore you laugh at, rather than with, its mock sublimity." — A.O. Scott, New York Times

The Final Word
"The film was directed by Andrew Stanton, whose credits include 'A Bug's Life' (1998), 'Finding Nemo' (2003) and 'WALL-E' (2008). All three have tight, well-structured plots, and that's what 'John Carter' could use more of. The action sequences are generally well-executed, but they're too much of a muchness. Does 'John Carter' get the job done for the weekend action audience? Yes, I suppose it does." — Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
