Down 10-0 and having passed for just 67 yards on 15 dropbacks, McNabb told his top receiver that it was time to make a big play. And when McNabb began rolling out to buy time, Santana Moss got behind cornerback Pat Lee and hauled in a 52-yard completion. Nine plays later, Graham Gano got the Redskins on the scoreboard with a 26-yard field goal, giving them some momentum going into halftime.
"It was a pretty dismal first half offensively," said tight end Chris Cooley. "What we were doing early wasn't working. We came in at halftime and offensively, we completely changed game plans."
And when the Redskins next headed into the locker room it was with an inspiring 16-13 victory that ended with Gano's 33-yarder that came 6:52 into overtime. At 3-2, Washington is tied for the NFC East lead this deep into the season for the first time in five years.
