Bernard Berrian appeared all but out of the Vikings' WR picture for this season and certainly beyond when Randy Moss joined the team in October. Berrian's salary had become an albatross considering that it took him almost all of last season to build a rapport with QB Brett Favre and had started very slowly this season. But Moss' unexpected departure and Berrian's breakout game in Week Nine suddenly have turned the tables a bit. Although he has more work to do to show he should come back in 2011, considering he's slated to earn $5 million next season, Berrian could be a Viking again. The team is expected to lose a few notable players to free agency, so that might help his cause. Plus, losing Berrian means the team almost certainly would need to add a veteran wideout. Although his role has changed — Berrian is running more quick-hitting routes, such as slants, and going vertical less often — he has the chance to prove he still belongs.
