Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow has inked a deal to write an autobiography that will be released in April. "Through My Eyes will be an "inspirational memoir," according to the HarpersCollins release that announced the book on Monday. Tebow, 23, led Florida to two BCS titles and won the 2007 Heisman Trophy before he was drafted in the first round by Broncos in April 2010, but it appears the book will focus largely on his life off the field.
"I am extremely excited about the opportunity to share my story of faith, family and football, and look forward to taking readers inside my life, both on and off the field," Tebow said in a statement. "This is my story about how I was able to fulfill my dream and I hope it can inspire people of all ages that are aspiring to fulfill their dreams."
Tebow, the son of Christian missionaries, has been lauded for his values and work in developing countries arguably as much as what he's done on the gridiron. He also boasts more than 53,000 followers on Twitter, despite having only about a dozen original messages on the social networking site.
"We are incredibly proud to help him communicate his powerful message of hope," said Mark Tauber, senior vice president and publisher of HarperOne, in the statement. "Tebow's story is one that will find a wide audience for years to come."
Tebow has played in four games with the Broncos, but has yet to attempt a pass. He has 26 yards rushing on 10 attempts.
