Vikings head coach Brad Childress has done a lot of talking this week about his quarterback's play and the Patriots stealing signals, but those are not the comments the NFL is most concerned about.
The league fined Childress $35,000 on Tuesday for violating NFL policies that prohibit public criticism of officiating. Childress called Sunday's loss to the Packers "the worst-officiated game I've seen," most upset with a TD catch by Visanthe Shiancoe that was reversed.
Childress also disclosed confidential conversations with the head of the NFL officials, which is a no-no. He told the Vikings media on Monday that Carl Johnson said the Shiancoe call was a mistake by the referee.
The NFL wrote in an e-mail that Childress was made aware of the fine by NFL executive vice president of football operations Ray Anderson.
