Saints RB Reggie Bush did not practice Wednesday after being cleared to do so earlier in the week.
Bush fractured his right leg in Week Two and has not played since. He planned to test the leg at full speed on Wednesday.
NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reported that it is highly unlikely for Bush to return for this Sunday's game against the Steelers.
The way we see it
Bush was optimistic he could go on Sunday, so it seems that he underestimated the severity of his injury. Starting RB Pierre Thomas has been out with an ankle injury and undrafted rookie Chris Ivory has gotten the bulk of the work the past couple weeks, but the Saints have a 2-3 record since Bush's injury after starting the season 2-0.
Fantasy Spin
Even if Bush can play Sunday, which is looking bleak at this point, he wouldn't be a good play going against the Steelers' rugged defense. With Bush out, you can count on Ivory continuing to get the bulk of the carries, but production will be an issue against Pittsburgh.
