MIAMI -- After waiting almost 12 weeks since their grand plan came to fruition, the Miami Heat didn't get much chance Tuesday night to show off their newly-crowned Big Three. But the New Two did just fine together.
With Dwyane Wade leaving only three minutes into the game with a right hamstring strain, newbies LeBron James and Chris Bosh quickly made themselves right at home at American Airlines Arena, meshing comfortably with a carefully-assembled supporting cast.
Although the plan in this exhibition opener was to work on the Wade/James/Bosh chemistry -- three stars, one team - it turned into an impressive two-man game.
"I think it was a pretty good day,'' Bosh said after the Heat stomped the Detroit Pistons with ease, 105-89. "It was a good first step to what we're trying to do here.''
Wade is now expected to miss at least a week of practice, delaying Miami's predicted march to greatness, but it also showed that having two out of three kings isn't too bad, either.
