MIAMI -- It's time for the Miami Heat to stop talking about being a potential dynasty and start showing it. At least a hint of it.It's time for First Impressions.
The Heat will raise the curtain and unveil their new-look, much-hyped edition tonight against the Detroit Pistons in what has become arguably the most anticipated exhibition game in NBA history.
It won't count as part of their regular-season record, but everything under Miami's microscope season will count for something to those so eager to judge.
The Three Kings of Miami -- LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade -- will take the court for the first time, well aware that Great Expectations don't wait for the games to count.
"We know we can't go 82-0. That's out of the question,'' Bosh said Tuesday after a morning workout. "But we can try and win every game, to play our best basketball every night. A lot of people are pumped up for tonight. We know that.''
